Kings vs. Ducks Game 4 Recap – Well That Was Ugly

This post game recap is brought to you by Can-Am Spyder. To  learn more info and test drive one of these bad boys visit a local dealer. BRP and Can-Am Spyder are official partners of the NHL and throughout the season are bringing special experiences to the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Does anyone cherish home ice? Apparently not. Home teams are now 0-4 in this series. Saturday’s 2-0 win by the Ducks at Staples Center evened the best-of-seven series with the Kings at 2 games a piece in what’s turning out to be one doozy of a playoff series.
Anaheim head coach Bruce Boudreau surprised many by naming rookie goaltender John Gibson as his starter, but it was the Kings who were surprised as they fired 28 shots at the young duckling (sorry) and were left shaking their heads as their 2-0 series advantage has now suddenly disappeared.
Darryl Sutter pulled Jonathan Quick after a first period which saw the Kings fall behind 2-0 and never recover. It was a decision the coach felt he had to make. “It wasn’t difficult, the thought process was that we had given up two goals. We should have done it sooner, they were scared to shoot.” said Sutter.
The Kings will head back down the 5 freeway to the Honda Center where they had success in games 1 & 2 and are sure to once again be joined by numerous rowdy fans wearing black. This has created the ever popular hashtag #PaintItBlack and the only thing more embarrassing than the Kings’ offensive output has been the supposed “#PaintItOrange” rally that the Ducks’ Official Twitter Account was trying to sell to its fans. As noted by Kings blogger @PumperNicholl, they never really quite achieved that during the 2 games at Staples. Maybe gas is more expensive in Orange County?

At least this guy tried to get behind the rally cry, but man are those jerseys hard to look at.
